These are 2 of the books I have read this month that are worth recommending
BELONG TO ME Marisa de los Santos A++
A follow-up to her best-selling novel LOVE WALKED IN. It's the story of newly married city couple, Cornelia and her handsome half-Filipino oncologist husband Teo, who moved to the suburbs with perfectly manicured lawns, beautiful people, and their equally beautiful children. It sounds like a shallow chick lit but the novel has so much more depth and meaning. All the characters are very well presented and developed, the wit and talent of the author are very evident. She deftly wrote about friendships, families, relationships, love, and death with her funny beautiful warmhearted dialog. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
SHARP TEETH Toby Barlow A++
A fast-paced and bloody thriller about werewolves disguised as ordinary dogs living among the unsuspecting citizens of Los Angeles. Not for the squeamish, this novel has everything: action, rival gangs, murder, revenge, drugs, and romance written entirely in free verse. I am already imagining it being made into a 'biting' but cool film noir. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
lines from page 43
born, legends say,
from a native thirst for a superior warrior.
But when the weather turned,
their packs were wiped out knifed and skinned in fear
as native American witch hunts
took on their destruction
as a sacred, healing mission.
On a hundred nights,
surrounded and fighting mad,
pack after pack were driven into drought-dry woods
where they were all burned down
to smoldering stumps.
The howling shook leaves in distant trees
and rolled through the valleys

Thanks for the recommends. I will check out "Love Walked In" and her other books.
I am not a big fan of werewolves stories but theres this Filipino drama that I am addicted to. Its about werewolves and the group (Luna) that wants to exterminate them and the lovestory between Lyka (wolf) and Noah(Luna). I believe its ground-breaking because it veers away from the norm that we see in Pinoy dramas.

Raissa, I bookmarked the sites and most of the old videos are no longer available. We don't subscribe to DirecTv and I'm not sure if our Dish network has this series in their Filipino package. I AM SOOO interested in watching this show. I love werewolves movies and this looks like something I will really really enjoy. I hope they put the show on DVD.
Thanks for the links, btw.
DVD Vols 1 & 2 are now available from starrystarry.com. Even if you do subscribe it will be the new episodes though not the early ones. If I find the links I will let you know. You can also try http://kapamilyaoverload.blogspot.com
You are welcome! I love the show so I am spreading the ♥ =)
its been a long time i havent read a filipino written book! i'll check this on amazon!! have a great weekend!
Raissa, I already ordered vols 1 & 2, 20 more to go, or maybe I should watch the earliest available episodes.:D
Dhanggit, the author is half Filipino (American), she is a poet and also an outstanding fiction writer. This book was in the NY Times top 5 best seller list the week it came out, which is a great accomplishment for a Filipino author in the US.:)
wow Oggi! I think vols 3 & 4 are already out in the Philippines but I dont know if its available from starry starry store already. I think it would be better to watch it from the beginning. It can get confusing at times so it helps knowing the start.
I am going to get Marisa de los Santos' books.
Raissa, 3 & 4 are not out yet in the US. I hope you will fall in love with MDLS's books too.:)
