LaPiS: Shades of Spring And Summer

Labels: , ,

buco pandan ice cream and ice pop

The lawn and everything else are growing and turning bright green at last after months of boring and colorless winter months. My pimiento, lara (Philippine sweet pepper), and Meyer lemon plants are now fruiting and the markets have abundant supply of USA-grown vegetables such as asparagus. I can't wait for the burst of yellows and reds at the farmers market as well as my own potted vegetable garden. And I'll be making lots of buco-pandan ice cream and ice pops to cool us off during the steamy summer season.

this Spanish pimiento will turn bright red and very sweet when ripe

Lasang Pinoy, Sundays (Shades of Spring And Summer) is hosted by SpiCes.

Jay, we all scream for ice cream.:)

G, I made the ice cream from scratch.:)

Luna Miranda, thanks.:)

Manang, I like the mint green color of the buco pandan flavoring.

Ces, thanks. I think I have brown thumb, my plants are usually hit or miss. Some grow really well, others don't bloom/fruit properly.:)

Pinky, it's better than store-bought kasi I use less sugar.:)

nakakainggit ka at my garden ka diyan. i have 5 pots of herbs and i think they're barely surviving after the unusually cold winter here in Miami... that buko pandan icecream sounds delish! that's just what I need here in Miami.. it already feels like summer here.

JMom, buco pandan is a very good ice cream flavor, one of my favorites.:)

Jescel, I wanted to plant them in a raised bed but I'm no carpenter and don't know how to build beds. Sa pots na lang.:)
